Destination: Boracay

Dianne and Mako

Boracay Wedding
Dianne and Mako got married in Shangri-la Boracay. It's not all the time that a Chinese wedding gets held in Boracay! So for them to pull off this wedding, congrats and best wishes!

It’s summer season once again, and Boracay is always on the list of our wedding destinations during this season. Dianne and Mako have been together for 8 years, and Dianne actually mentioned it was the usual Xavierian-ICA kind of relationship. I get kilig when FYAM shoots weddings from my fellow alma mater. Let me share to you some unforgettable quotes from their beautiful wedding in Boracay.

A few tips we can get from Dianne and Mako’s vows:
Make it light:
“8 years ago, I had specific things I want for my dream wife. Fast forward to today, I’m marrying someone 10 times better.”
Be True:
“I may not have fallen in love with you, but I definitely walked into love with you.”
Be Realistic:
“I would choose you a million times over someone who has more hair and no fat belly”

Claudia and Gaston

Manila Cathedral
Claudia and Gaston were together for 14 years – turning 15 this year. He proposed with the help of Claudia’s favorite son, her dog Milo, to help carry the ring and finally ask her to spend the rest of their lives together!

I asked Gaston, what was his favorite moment of the wedding?
“When the doors of Manila Cathedral opened, and Claudia started walking down the aisle with the amazing church music”
Claudia gave goosebumps to everyone in Manila Cathedral as all eyes were on her. She was full of grace and love. Not to mention, she was wearing a Monique Lhuillier. Honestly, she can wear anything, and still look beautiful with that face!

The evening ended with Claudia holding the mic, Gaston beside her lovely wife, their family and friends dancing the night away! It was indeed a lovely wedding!

Destination: Davao

Erika and Joshua

Davao Wedding
Erika and Joshua were classmates since Grade 4 in Ateneo de Davao. They have been together for 9 years. Erika pursued being a doctor while Josh is a Computer Programmer. They decided to get married in Davao because it is their hometown. Both families and friends were there to witness this beautiful wedding.

FYAM was in Davao yesterday to shoot Erika and Joshua’s wedding. They tied the knot at Saint Joseph The Worker Parish Church, followed by a beautiful reception at Club Samal Resort.

Erika and Joshua were both super chill and cool. This totally reflected on their SDE. Love and music were prominent all throughout the evening as both were very talented individuals. I remember Erika singing while saying her vows, and Joshua couldn’t help but shed a tear! It’s easy to break into tears when you know the love is real. During the grand entrance, Erika sang while Joshua played the guitar as they serenaded their friends and family. I truly felt how they were so connected, and I can’t help but wish the same for everyone!

Angela and Peejay

Pico de Loro
Angela and Peejay got married in Pico de Loro. It was FYAM's last wedding of 2017! They particularly wanted to see aerial shots, and we hope we pulled it off! I was so excited to read Angela's message when I sent her the SDE link. She messaged me with "Ang ganda!!! Kilig pa din ako and teary-eyed everytime i watch it! Im sure I will play yung sde everyday!!!" I remember feeling the same after my own wedding!

Angela and Peejay were high school classmates. They knew each other long time ago, but only got reconnected online when Angela went back to the Philippines around 2010 to visit. It’s never too late! Sometimes you just have to ignite the fire to keep it burning as they say! 2013 came, Angela decided to relocate back to the Philippines. 4 YEARS after, Angela and Peejay see themselves in Pico de Loro surrounded by their friends and family, witnessing a promise of a lifetime together.

Destination: Manila

Tine and Miko

15years
They tied the knot at Don Bosco Parish, Makati, followed by a beautiful reception at Raffles hotel.

Just a little throwback, Tine and Miko met in high school. Miko saw Tine during student’s orientation. A few months later, he started to write her letters and send her gifts. Finally Dec 2, 2002 – they became boyfriend and girlfriend.

After being together for 15 years, they decided to get married and spend the rest of their lives together.

Tine works as Brand Marketing for Chowking. Miko is a Network Engineer. I remember getting nervous when Tine started showing me a .pdf file of which music to use, and possible key shots of the wedding. It was nice to know she knew what she wanted for her wedding video. We always do our best to fit the needs of our clients, and I’m glad she fully trusted us with her wedding!

Destination: Palawan

Amanda and Kenneth

El Nido Wedding
Amanda and Kenneth are both based in Hong Kong. They decided to have a beautiful destination wedding at El Nido. All their family and friends flew in to celebrate the moment.

I remember having an online meeting with Kenneth. He told me they were having a very non-traditional Chinese wedding. True enough come wedding day, it started with crazy fun games by the beach (we even took aerial shots for this). I love how Amanda and Kenneth were both very chill on the idea of their wedding day. I think I was the one panicking about their wedding schedule when Kenneth was discussing their plans. I guess this is because with all the weddings we shot, they really made sure that they enjoyed all throughout the day instead of stressing out on the makeup, hair, and last minute preps for the ceremony itself. It was cool, and fun, and I wish we shot more weddings like this!

Destination: Manila

Kayra and Chris

When Love Comes
Last weekend, FYAM team shot Chris and Kayra's wedding at Mary the Queen, followed by a beautiful reception at Manila Hotel. My favorite line from the groom's vows: "you make me want to be a better person". I guess when you really meet the one, you feel this way stronger than ever.

In this crazy world where there’s so much hate, I honestly feel lucky to have this kind of job. We shoot real love stories unfolding. We become part of our clients’ lives by making sure we document an unforgettable moment of deciding to keep someone in their life forever. We encapsulate promises, moments, and the truth of now. I feel luckier when I get to experience this with people I used to encounter in life.

Chris is one of my sister’s friends in high school. He would sometimes hang out around MTQ along with other friends, and as the shobe, my sister always tagged me along. I don’t remember much about that time but I remember Chris as one of the older brothers when I was young. People called him “Barat” which made him really unforgettable and funny. So when he called me up to say that he’s getting married and wanted FYAM to shoot our wedding, I was really happy that they wanted FYAM team to do it!

Time really flies by too fast. One day you are going to school, meeting people, and then the next thing you know, you start attending weddings, and then baby showers! I guess this is called LIFE!

Destination: Tagaytay

Sarah and Wilson

Love Is Here
Sarah and Wilson got married last weekend at Antonio's, Tagaytay. It was a beautiful garden wedding. They couldn't ask for more as they were celebrating this special day being surrounded by close family and friends. On that day, love was all that mattered.
I asked Sarah, “How did he propose?”

“Jan 22 2017 – In his house, nothing fancy, he just showed me a video he made full of our photos. Very private and personal proposal  exactly how I wanted it to be. I was so mad at him the night before because he staged a fake proposal and placed a wire on my ring finger. I was already emotional that time because of accumulated, heightened anticipation. Almost a year before he proposed, while we were on vacation in HK, he asked me to fit and try on engagement rings to get my size. Several months and various trips abroad after (including Paris!), Wilson still did not pop the question.
Mid January 2017, he went to HK for one night for a “business trip” and he did not bring me along which i found very unusual. Turns out my hunch was right, he went there to pick up my ring. Few days after he popped the question.”
